some more info

Each blog post will fall under one of three categories- restaurant reviews, recipes, or general.

A restaurant review is probably actually "a review of the one single amazing thing I get every time I go there."  I quickly figure out what works for me.  I'm also poor, and once I find what works I become very risk-averse.  With my last $10 of the week I can either guarantee myself an awesome but familiar meal, or try a new dish that won't be as enjoyable 95% of the time. 

A recipe is necessary the first time I make a dish.  It gives me the most important information of main ingredients and cooking processes.  Subsequent makings have me tweaking the recipe to take tastiness from "yes" to "hellllls yea".  I think most people do the same.  I'll probably link to the original recipe, note any significant changes I made and their effect, and maybe add a picture?  If I'm feeling fancy?

A general post could be any observation about food.  Whether I recommend a brand of soy sauce or say that Mexican food is nasty, I'll try to explain myself in objective terms.  I only talk justified smack!  However, eating is a subjective experience.  Writing intelligibly about flavors and tastes in order to consistently convey that experience to different readers... might kill me.  By the way, how do we know that we all see the same colors?  What if what we both call "green" is actually purple to you and yellow to me?

I don't consider myself a foodie, but I have some strong opinions about what I do and don't like to eat. This is what I'm going to write about on the blog. You'll likely find my "restaurant" "reviews", "recipes", and general blabbers useful if you agree that most of the following are great:

* meat, dark meat
* asian food
* tomato-based sauces
* msg/umami
* hearty stews
* cooking with fresh ingredients

You should probably look at a different blog if you like this stuff:
